At Otter Reindeer Farm, you can get up close and personal with our friendly reindeer! Feed them treats and learn about their unique personalities. Learn about ear marking and other fascinating tales of their lives in the wild and on our farm!
Log house dinner
Step inside a traditional Finnish log house, with warm wooden walls and a cozy, rustic atmosphere. Here, you can relax with your family or friends and enjoy a hearty reindeer stew made from local ingredients. The setting is intimate and inviting, perfect for sharing a memorable meal after a day outside.
Forest Walks
How about a forest walk alongside your very own reindeer? With a peaceful reindeer the tranquility of nature will soothe your sences as you stroll through snowy paths, surrounded by tall trees and sparkling frost. Our knowledgeable guides will help you and share stories about the forest and its wildlife, making this a memorable adventure for everyone!
Cozy Kota
After your adventures, relax in our traditional kota, a cozy Finnish hut! Gather around the warm fire, sip on delicious hot drinks, and enjoy tasty snacks. In the kota you will unwind and share your experiences. It’s the perfect way to end a great day!

Your guides
Otter Reindeerfarm is a family-run reindeer farm that has been part of the Saukko (eng. otter) family since 1948. The farm’s host, Tapio Saukko, has spent his life working with reindeer. Today he still helps with daily herding, while letting the younger generation lead the farm’s activities.
Tapio’s son Joni and his wife Tuija take care of the reindeer and welcome guests to the farm. Tuija is the friendly voice behind every booking and the guide for most visits – a warm, humorous and down-to-earth Lappish woman who makes guests feel at home from the moment they arrive. Sometimes you might also meet their daughter Eeva, who loves spending time with the reindeer whenever she can.
When you visit Otter Reindeerfarm, you step into the life of a true reindeer-herding family and share in their traditions, stories and everyday moments with the animals.
