Visit Our Reindeer Farm
Step into the calm rhythm of everyday life on our traditional family farm, established in 1948. During your visit, you will learn about reindeer herding, meet our animals and discover what it really means to live with reindeer through all seasons. You can watch the feeding, hear stories about the history of the farm, and take in the peaceful countryside surroundings. The visit is always private, giving you the chance to enjoy the atmosphere without any rush. We serve a warm drink and a snack during the visit, and if the weather is very cold, we will arrange a chance to warm up indoors. This experience is perfect for those who want to connect with local life and traditions in an authentic way.
Reindeer Walks and Feeding
This private activity lets you spend time with our tame reindeer in their natural environment. You will hand-feed them and walk together along snowy forest paths, up to one kilometer, guided by your host. The reindeer move at their own pace, and you will get to observe their natural behavior while walking beside them. Each walk is arranged with respect for the animals who work for limited hours to ensure their wellbeing. At the end of the walk, you can relax with a warm drink and a snack by the fire in a traditional Lappish kota.
Reindeer Antlers and Local Flavors
Alongside our activities, you can also bring home a piece of the farm. We offer naturally shed reindeer antlers, handcrafted antler items, and other unique products made here on our land. You can also purchase reindeer meat products that reflect the traditions and flavors of Lapland.
Private Dinner in the Log House
Enjoy a traditional reindeer stew dinner in our cozy log house. This is a complete meat lovers meal with dessert, and it is prepared with care from local ingredients and served in a warm and inviting atmosphere, reserved only for your group. It is the perfect way to end your visit to the farm or to simply relax together in peace and quiet. Please book in advance so we can arrange the time to suit you best. The dinner will be served for a minimum group of four people. When booking, please let us know about any dietary restrictions.
Meet Santa at the Reindeer Paddock
Step into a true winter moment and arrange a meeting with Santa beside the reindeer paddock, where one of his real reindeer may be resting during the season. Enjoy a friendly chat, take memorable photos by the outdoor campfire, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere of our authentic reindeer farm. You will also learn about life on a working farm while enjoying a warm drink and a small snack. This private experience is available for groups of four people or more. Larger groups are warmly welcome to Otter Reindeer Farm. If your group has more than eight people, feel free to contact us for a group offer and personalized arrangements.
Hungry for more?
We also offer traditional Lappish meals for small groups of 4–10 people, prepared with locally sourced ingredients and enjoyed in our kota by the fire. Breakfast or lunch is available for 25€ per adult and 15€ per child. If you’d like to include a meal in your booking, please let us know in advance and mention any dietary restrictions or allergies.
